An update on China with presentations from the China Britain Business Council and UKT&I followed by case studies by members. It will be interesting to know if it is it is getting easier to sell and export into China? Details of the actual presenters will be published when available.





This evening we will examine how best to promote and sell your company and products in a foreign market. Details of the actual presenters will be published when available.





Alasdair Kerr, of Edinburgh & Lothians Chamber of Commercee will give an introduction to the newly launched Scottish Chambers International (SCI). This will be followed by Ross Clark of SCI giving a presentation on Smart Exporter, a new product from Scottish Chambers of Commerce which is designed to improve our exporting skills.





Ann Willaims of the British Chambers of Commerce will demonstrate how to use their Market Selection Tool to decide which is the right market for your products, services and business plans. Further details will be posted here nearer the time. This workshop will take place 2 - 4.30 p.m. at the G&A Hotel, Melrose.





Presentations on the current activities of Heriot Watt University and Borders College. The viist will include a Campus tour.





Latin America has huge potential for exporters but which countries are more likely to purchase products and services from the Scottish Borders? Details of the actual presenters will be published when available.





There is huge value in being able to label your products 'Made in Scotland but, can you genuinely claim this to be the case? Murdo Beaton will lead us through this minefield and explain the requirements that will enable you to legally use the 'Made in Scotland' label.


24/03/2011: The Ecomony



This meeting will review the effects of the recession, how we are recovering, and the effects the crisis has had on Borders based exporters. An invitation will be extended to the Bank of England to provide the main speaker. Our old friend John Wright will also participate and members will be invited to tell us how the recession has effected their business.





This event will address how we can target the many thousands of ex-pats and 'Scottish' communities around the world. Details of the actual presenters will be published when available.
