The EU Referendum Debate

Tuesday, 17 May 2016 07:07
Thursday, 26th May 2016 - 6.15 for 6.30 p.m.
Venue: Kingsknowes Hotel, Galashiels
To help Borders business people understand the pros and cons of the argument this meeting will offer representatives from either side the opportunity to make their case. We will have four presentations followed by an open Q&A session during which the audience can seek answers to questions that may help them decide which way to vote.

We will welcome speakers from the ‘Campaign for an Independent Britain’ and ‘Stronger In Europe’ as well as local business people.

To speak to LEAVE we have: Edward Spalton, Chair of the Campaign for an Independent Britain and Borders businessmen, Neil Ballantyne (Ballantynes of Walkerburn).

For REMAIN we have: John Edward, spokesman for the Stronger In Europe campaign in Scotland and Borders businessman, Charles Cormack (Charles Cormack Consultancy).

Make no mistake, REMAIN or LEAVE the outcome of the EU referendum will have some effect on you and your business. We need to know what is at risk and what the benefits may be on either side. Don’t miss this opportunity to listen to the case from either side and to learn and understand exactly what is at stake.

As usual, Scottish Borders Exporters Association events are open to anyone whether they are involved in international trade or not. Manufacturers, IT, designers, service providers, everyone is welcome. The presentations will be followed by a finger buffet giving everyone the opportunity to exchange views and news with the speakers, members and guests. We look forward to welcoming you.

Members: No charge. Visitors: £12.00.
