Congratulations to Rosy Eribé whose work and successes are currently featuring in an exhibition in the Textile Towerhouse in Hawick until 24 September 2010.

Eribé Knitwear Design, a multi-award winning company based in the heart of the Borders is currently exhibiting a range of garments, accessories, film and photographs at the Textile Towerhouse in Hawick.

The exhibition which is open now until 24 September, gives a fascinating insight into the career of company founder, Rosemary Eribé - a Heriot Watt graduate who started the company from her livingroom 24 years ago. 

The company which designs and produces contemporary Scottish knitwear has continued to grow into international markets and now has a reputation for quality and design. The company even stormed Paris Fashion Week recently - prompting Bloomingdales to organise a dedicated bespoke in-store event.

Rosemary explained: “Our team of knitters are all dedicated and can take up to four weeks to produce a garment.  We really do put a lot of love into our garments and are over-whelmed at the reaction from international markets.”

The collections combine the knowledge drawn from Scotland’s rich textile heritage with the stylistic awareness of younger designers. The exhibition includes collections from Rosemary’s graduate days to present as well as a wide range of knitted samples which visitors are free to handle – from Shetland ecology yarns to the finest hand knitted cashmere.

SBC’s Executive Member for Culture, Sport and Community Education Councillor Graham Garvie explained: “This is a really fascinating exhibition which just proves how someone with a strong work ethic and vision can reach international success and help place the Borders on the world-wide stage when it comes to fashion.”

Borders Textile Towerhouse is open Monday – Saturday 10am-4.30pm and Sunday 12noon-3pm. 
Admission is free.
